Kagera Islamic Development Organization (KIDO)

KIDO (Kagera Islamic Development Organization) is a national Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) based in the northern part of Kagera region of western Tanzania. Our organization is headquartered in Kabwoba Hamlet Local Center was we find influxes of less favouerd community members.

KIDO mobilizes Islamic values and community resources to strengthen spiritual life, deliver social services (especially for orphans and vulnerable children), support religious events and observances, and promote sustainable socio-economic development in the local Muslim community and neighbouring populations. KIDO combines faith formation with practical programs in education, humanitarian relief, health awareness, livelihood support and community cohesion.

Mission Statement

To strengthen Islamic spiritual life and community welfare in Kabwoba and surrounding areas by providing faith-based education, social support for orphans and needy families, organizing Ramadan and religious events, and implementing sustainable development initiatives that respect Islamic ethics and local culture.
